Originally from Devon, training began as a competitive artistic and acrobatic gymnast. With a love for performing dancing came alongside the training and went on to take a Foundation Degree in Musical Theatre and Dance at The London Studio Centre. This was followed by a BA Hons Degree in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance,  graduating in 2014. During training at Laban the opportunity arose to perform and work with artists such as: Athena Vahla, Lizzie Kew-Ross, Martin Hargreaves recreating Steve Paxton’s “Satisfyin’ Lover” and in the London 2012 Opening Ceremony of the Olympics.

From graduation spending a year in Australia  gaining the opportunity to work with choreographer Rhiannon Newton and she went on to take a yoga teacher training. In October 2015 when returning to Plymouth Sophie began performing with an integrated company called Far Flung Dance Theatre who she continues to work with to date. Performing in three works and teaching with Far Flung has been an exciting process and has instigated a desire to work and practise inclusively. On top of this completing an internship with Plymouth Dance and Exim Dance Company, developing skills in producing and teaching. This has guided her to also look into developing and producing her own work combining dance and acrobatics, particularly looking to create movement based upon a positive approach to mental and emotional health.
